Movies Based on Tech that You Shouldn’t Miss
It isn’t necessary that you only end up watching an action or a comedy movie; you can switch up your genre for a change and probably watch a movie based on tech instead. That being said, technology is something that is an integral part of our everyday lives, therefore, why not just watch a movie based on it?
I remember when I was young, I had to go to the nearest Blockbuster so that I could rent movies such as The Matrix and Terminator because I was obsessed with Sci-Fi and technology. However, now that I have grown up, things have changed drastically and watching movies has never been easier!
Given that we live in times of fast internet and improved technology, all I have to do now is stream all my favorite movies online, and you can do the same too!. All you need is a great internet connection such as the likes of Xfinity Internet and you are good to go. The best part is, if your internet ever rarely slips up, just contact Xfinity Customer Service and they will resolve your issue faster than you can think, all so that you can have a lag-free streaming experience!
Coming back to the best tech movies you can watch, we took the privilege to compile a list, especially for you so that you will have an easier time browsing through movies that you want to watch. So. lets get started.
Not Okay
If you have been an active part of the social media ecosystem, then you must be well aware of the cancel culture that is going on. A person makes a slight mistake on social media, and they are canceled into oblivion. That is exactly what happens in Not Okay too.
The movie stars Zoey Deutch, a millennial trying to make her way towards social media fame. She does manage to achieve it but in the worst way possible. She eventually becomes known for all the bad reasons and becomes the internet’s most hated person.
The way Zoey portrays her character is absolutely brilliant. Even though she is supposed to be the internet’s most hated person, you somehow find yourself feeling bad for her. The movie also has an interesting comedic touch to it, so this movie is bound to make you laugh all the way through.
The Social Network
This is one movie that you probably must have heard about before if not seen it. The movie is about the birth of the largest social media platform of all time, Facebook. The tagline of the movie says “You can’t make a million friends without making a few enemies,” and we can’t agree more.
The movie shows the struggles that Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) went through when he developed Facebook and grew it into what it is today. He also had a falling out with his best friend and partner Eduardo Saverin (Andrew Garfield) and the major lawsuit that Eduardo filed against Mark. You should definitely watch the movie to see how Facebook came into being and the entire fiasco that came with it.
The Internship
How cool would it be to work at Google? You can search for all the perks of working at Google, and you will be amazed by all the cool things that the employees get. We got to see a glimpse of that lifestyle in The Internship, which is about two overaged adults, played by Owen Wilson and Vance Vaughn, who get an internship at Google.
Considering how the rest of the interns are a lot younger and are a lot more “woke,” both of them have a hard time fitting in and getting used to their “lingo.” The movie also has light-hearted comedy, which will make sure that you have a great time as you watch the movie. So, if you are looking for a light watch, then this movie is for you!
Hard Candy
This movie shows you the darker side of the internet and people who exhibit predatory behavior online. The movie stars Elliot Page, who managed to bag a Best Actress Award back in 2006. The movie is full of suspense, enough to have you at the edge of your seat throughout the movie.
However, this movie isn’t for the faint-hearted; it can tend to get disturbing at times. The movie is about a 17-year-old girl who is in a virtual chat room and she comes across an older man who has a predatory behavior. While expecting absurd activities from the man, Elliot Page manages to turn the tables on him and entrap him.
The Matrix
This list would have definitely been incomplete without mentioning The Matrix in it. People still say that the movie was way ahead of its time. The movie is about Artificial Intelligence and how all of us could possibly be living in a simulation. Plus, the best part about the movie is that it stars Keanu Reeves and it is undeniably one of his best movies.
The movie also had the kind of CGI, which was lightyears ahead, with effects that you would have noticed in movies that came later, as references. So if you are looking for a good tech-related sci-fi movie, then The Matrix is the way to go!
Provided that we live in the age of the internet and Artificial Intelligence, I’m intrigued to see whether these movies actually play a part in the future to come or not. Until then, all we can do is wait and enjoy all these Sci-Fi movies!
